Casual Elementary Monitor Position
The Casual Elementary Monitor, reporting to the Principal, is responsible for providing a safe and clean environment for students by supervising students who remain on the school grounds over the lunch hour. Casual Elementary Monitors are scheduled on an as-needed basis, for 1-2 hours per day, Monday to Friday, with an hourly wage of $17.20 per hour plus 4% in lieu of vacation pay. We are looking for an Elementary Monitor at St. Mary's School, Goderich.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise students in the lunchroom and surrounding areas to ensure safety and proper behavior
- Assist students with minor tasks such as opening food containers and cleaning up spills or messes
- Help students transition back to class safely and efficiently after lunch
- Assist with special events or activities such as school-wide meals or themed lunches
- Promote inclusivity and a welcoming atmosphere for all students during their lunch break
- Experience working with children
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to ensure the safety and security of students
- Ability to communicate with staff, students, and parents
- Responsible, caring, and approachable demeanor
- Ability to work as part of a team
