INSTRUCTIONAL COACH

1.0 FTE Secondment

The successful candidate will be a highly effective teacher who has a passion for lifelong learning and collaborating with peers. The candidate will demonstrate sound planning, instruction, assessment, and intervention practices and have a good sense of relevant learning technologies to help promote student-centred learning. The ability to quickly establish rapport and relationships with others is an important asset. The successful candidate is optional to be an expert in all areas of responsibilities, but a keen willingness to learn and serve our schools is necessary. Aptitude for working with colleagues from Grades K and up will be an asset.

Reporting to the Associate Superintendent, Learner Services, the Instructional Coach possesses a coordinator allowance as per the collective agreement. It will have these key responsibilities:

?Support classroom teachers with implementing Horizon’s Instructional Model, effective assessment practice and new curriculum.

?Support using relevant technology tools to maximize instruction and assessment tasks at the teacher level.

?Has experience working with Teachers to support complex students in a Learning Support Teacher role currently or in the past.

?Provide school staff presentations to help school leaders implement school plans as needed.

?Able to support Teachers in research-based teaching sprints to enhance student learning and engagement.

?Participate as a member of the Learner Services team in meetings, professional learning, and events.

This secondment position will commence August 19, 2024 and may be renewed annually for a maximum of three years.
