Job Description: The Specialist works collaboratively with the Manager of EES Projects, the EES Director, PCSS Directors and staff. They are responsible for monitoring the DMS / software, energy and environmental sustainability patterns for all SHA facilities and identifying areas where energy is wasted or used inefficiently, or environmental sustainability initiatives could be developed improve efficiency, environmental outcomes and reduce costs. The Specialist works to maximize energy efficiency, creating and overseeing  the implementation of short and long-term projects and strategies that increase energy efficiency and minimize unnecessary consumption. This will require extensive facility operations knowledge and experience, attention to detail, advanced planning and project management skills.

The CEM’s responsibilities extend beyond technical recommendations to direct involvement in energy initiatives that affect work assignments, shift structures, and facility operations. Implementing energy efficiency measures may result in changes to job functions, staffing levels, or operational priorities.  

Human Resources Exemption: No  

Experience
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience developing and leading energy & environmental projects.

Education

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Engineering
  • CEM Designation

Licenses

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

Other Education and Training

  • Licensed, and in good standing, with regulatory body, if applicable
  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Engineering
  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Facilities Engineering Technology
  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
