Job Description:  The Specialist, Practitioner Membership Services will provide provincial expertise and advanced knowledge as a strategic partner and subject matter expert within the Practitioner Staff Affairs portfolio in the design, delivery, and implementation of services and strategies to improve operations, achieve goals, and resolve issues. The Specialist provides solutions for workplace disputes involving physicians, including the interpretation, application and administration of SHA Practitioner Staff Bylaws, College of Physicians and Surgeons requirements, and other relevant legislation. The Specialist provides advice in support of strategic physician relations including physicians conduct subject to discipline, negotiates alternate resolutions to disputes, documents issues/ settlements, prepares for Practitioner Staff Review Panel hearings and other adjudications, contributes to Bylaws and Rules policy development, conducts workplace investigations, and provides training on concerning handling and Bylaws matters within the organization. 

The Specialist demonstrates strong leadership to enable an innovative and positive working climate and a client- centric culture. The Specialist must work cross functionally within the portfolio and across the organization to support operations. The Specialist will develop partnerships and work closely with system and community partners.

Experience

  • 3-5 years' experience working at an operational level in a complex,multi- stakeholder environment

Education

  • Bachelor of Commerce, Business Administration or Human Resources or equivalent combination of education and experience

Licenses

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

Other Education and Training

  • Undergraduate degree in a health related field
  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Licensed, and in good standing, with regulatory body, if applicable
