Job Description: The Policy Specialist provides policy development and consultation expertise to all provincial Executive Policy Leads. The Specialist serves as the primary lead for internal & external constituencies. This position ensures that processes are in place to develop & implement effective corporate & clinical policy across the SHA. The Specialist will work with the Executive Leaders assessing risk related to clinical & corporate policy development & implementation; monitors regulatory bodies & identifies gaps in policy. The incumbent works closely, in a collaborative & co-operative manner, with members of the Governance & Policy team to assist in delivering on the corporate & clinical policy framework & strategy. This will require research, analysis, risk assessment & advice on policy development, implementation, briefings & proposals as required. Collaboration, coordination, project management, organization & communication skills are key.

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

Other Education and Training

  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor of Health Care Administration is acceptable
  • Bachelor of Commerce is acceptable
  • Licensed, and in good standing, with regulatory body, if applicable
  • Bachelor of Administration is acceptable
