Job Description: The Social Worker (MSW) provides psychosocial assessment/intervention in complex situations with chronic issues pre-dating current health concerns. The MSW is responsible for case management/coordination from admission to discharge planning. The MSW is an excellent communicator and develops professional working relationships in the multidisciplinary health care team model. Position requires advanced assessment/intervention skills for work with individuals (children and adolescents), their family and in groups in the inpatient unit. Intervention modalities may include, but not limited to: family therapy, CBT, DBT, solution focused approaches and motivational interviewing with mentally ill and substance misusing children/youth. Demonstrates understanding of the social work role, SHA values, and operate within the policies of the Dube Centre and the SHA. Clinical supervision/administrative support and direction will be provided by the program manager/clinical leadership team. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"
