Job Description: Under the direction of the manager, and as part of an interdisciplinary team, the Social Worker BSW provides a range of screening, triage, treatment, and case coordination services to a primarily adult community mental health and addiction population.

Knowledge and Abilities
- Knowledge of assessment, triage, treatment and case management.
- Knowledge and skill in community outreach and crisis interventions
- Ability to enter and retrieve data in computer database systems
- Public relation skills with the ability to maintain effective work relationships
- Ability to provide public/educational presentations
- Ability to prepare reports in a clear, concise and timely manner.
- Able to work independently in a self motivated manner & respond under pressure
- Knowledge in best practices in addictions and harm reduction strategies
- Knowledge of community resources including treatment programs & support agencies
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Standards and application of such
- Ability to establish workload priorities.
- Cultural awareness in required
- Knowledge of intervention programs and strategies for individuals and groups
- Ability to formulate evidence-based intervention based on clinical presentation
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary setting.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the Mental Health Services Act/related legislation
- Knowledge of Recovery Philosophy
- Knowledge in Mental Health and Addictions
- Understanding social determinants of health for program development & delivery

- Must have current practicing registration with SASW.
