Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist is accountable for the operation of the respiratory service and provides effective, safe and accurate treatment of patients with respiratory and cardiac problems. The Respiratory Therapist reports to the Manager, Cinical Services ICU/PACU.

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Diploma in Respiratory Therapy
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapist (C.S.R.T)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to accept responsibility when working with or on technical equipment which is life-supporting
  • Ability to assist in teaching new techniques and procedures to staff
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills utilizing sensitivity and courtesy when dealing with patients, staff and physicians
  • Must be self-motivated and confident in ability to work independently
  • Must have a good working knowledge of equipment and procedures in Adult, Pediatrics and Neonatal areas

Community Description

Prince Albert is the 3rd largest city in Saskatchewan with a population of 39,737. Located in the broad valley of the North Saskatchewan River, near the geographical center of the province where the agricultural prairie of the south and the rich forest belt of the north meet. Highways 2, 11, 55, 302 and 3 all connect in Prince Albert. Within an hour’s drive, you will enjoy lakes, golf courses, ski trails, great fishing, hunting and other recreational opportunities.
