Job Description

THE REGISTERED NURSE A IS RESPONSIBLE TO THE NURSING UNIT MANAGER OR DIRECTOR OF NURSING. THE REGISTERED NURSE A IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING A HIGH STANDARD OF PATIENT CARE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE VISION, MISSION AND PHILOSOPHY OF THE PRINCE ALBERT PARKLAND HEALTH REGION. AS A MEMBER OF THE NURSING DEPARTMENT, THE REGISTERED NURSE A HAS THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ASSESSMENT, PLANNING, IMPLEMENTATION AND EVALUATION OF COMPREHENSIVE CLIENT CENTERED CARE.

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing or Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) or Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan (RPNAS)
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

Community Description

Big River is a town located on the southern end of Cowan Lake in north central Saskatchewan, Canada. It is just north of Saskatchewan's extensive grain belt on Highway 55 (part of the inter-provincial Northern Woods and Water Route) and about 16 kilometres (10 mi) west of Prince Albert National Park. Big River and area offers great year-round activities for the outdoor enthusiasts including fishing off the dock at the end of Main Street​, ATVing and sledding along local trails, swimming and fishing in the many surrounding lakes and browsing through the many great stores and shops in town.
