Job Description: The Staff Recreation Therapists' primary role is to improve the health and quality of life for community dwelling older adults through health promotion, needs assessment, program development, evaluation, leadership training, and implementation of healthy active lifestyle and falls prevention initiatives. Services are delivered through education, facilitation, leadership, and resource development. This is done in partnership with older adult groups, healthcare providers, and community based organizations. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

• Bachelor of Recreation Studies

Licenses

• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR)

Memberships

• Canadian Therapeutic Recreation Association (CTRA)
• Saskatchewan Association of Recreational Professionals (SARP)

Knowledge and Abilities

• Knowledge in appropriate models of therapeutic interventions
• Knowledge in fall prevention health benefits and best practice for older adults
