Job Description: The incumbent will provide Psychology Services primarily directed to pre-school aged children 0-5 years of age. Provision of these services are through a combination of direct service, consultation, community resource development and education. The Early Childhood Psychologist complements existing staff that provide services to children, youth and their families. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

Education

  • Master of Psychology (MPsych)

Licenses

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

Other Education and Training

  • Master of Clinical Psychology is acceptable
  • Master of Educational Psychology is acceptable

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team

  • Ability to administer and interpret psychological tests
  • Ability to collect, record, report comprehensive client information accurately
  • Ability to competently use computers and software applications
  • Ability to perceive and analyze problems and effect innovative solutions
  • Knowledge in clinical theory and best practice
  • Ability to prioritize  
  • Knowledge in evidence-based approaches for children, youth and families
  • Ability to facilitate educational and skill development groups
  • Ability to provide psychological consultations to the team, community, & schools

Other Information

  • Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists
  • Authorized Practice Endorsement (APE)
  • Supervised training in assessment, differential diagnosis and intervention
  • HSAS seniority in the SHA will be considered under the selection criteria
