Job Description: Reporting to the Manager, the Occupational Therapist - Degree is an integral member of the interdisciplinary team of the Kinetik Rehabilitation Services Department. The Occupational Therapist - Degree will be responsible for the delivery of quality assessment and treatment including functional evaluation, physical reconditioning, work hardening, functional activity simulation, vocational reintegration, hand therapy, and education for clients with musculoskeletal injuries. The incumbent will perform worksite and ergonomic assessment, including in an industrial environment. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

Education

  • Bachelor of Occupational Therapy

Licenses

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

Other Education and Training

  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)

Competencies

  • Intermediate - Communication skills

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to conduct assessments/prioritize client needs/develop treatment plans 
  • Ability to plan/organize/coordinate with other multidisciplinary team members
  • Requires coping skills to work w/clients dealing with stress/psychosocial issues
  • Requires concentration and attention for treatment, teaching and report writing
  • Responsible for accurate observation/documentation of patient related info.
