Job Description: The Public Health Supervisor-Nurse C is accountable to work within the guidelines established by the Saskatchewan Health Authority to assess, plan, implement and evaluate Public Health programs for the area. The Supervisors knowledge of health and social sciences supports staff in promoting healthy behaviors of individuals, families and communities through targeted interventions, programs and advocacy. Inherent in this role are knowledge, skills and abilities specific to health promotion, prevention, leadership, and inter-sectoral collaboration. Using the community development model, this individual works collaboratively with other sectors and agencies. This individual provides clinical support to Public Health Nurses, outreach workers and clerical staff by providing clinical expertise, orientation, training, staff development, and performance appraisals.

Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years recent experience as a Public Health Nurse
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
Licenses
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
Other Education and Training
- Maintenance of competencies related to anaphylaxis, immunization, and CPR Level C
Competencies
- Advanced skills in program planning and evaluation
- Decision making skills
Knowledge and Abilities
- Knowledge in immunology and biologicals used for immunizations
- Knowledge in community health and public health concepts
- Knowledge in population health promotion approaches and community development
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing workload
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Knowledge of research and statistical collection concepts
- Knowledge in growth and development of newborns/children/adolescents/adults
- Knowledge of teaching/learning concepts for adults and children
