Job Description: Under the direction of a designated departmental manager, the supervisor supports program administration and provides technical consultation within the assigned department. This includes providing direct leadership, Supervision, administration and coordination of population and public health nursing staff who deliver a wide variety of programs to the residents of the Saskatchewan Health Authority. This position is responsible for assuming a leadership role in program development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation and will be responsible to assist in ensuring that programs are delivered in an effective and efficient manner. This position is responsible for providing visible onsite leadership and staff supervision. The position also develops and updates policy and procedures.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Public Health nursing, with clinical immunization expertise (adult and child).


Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
  • Masters Degree in Nursing or related field would be an asset

Licenses

  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)

Competencies

  • Advanced - Communication skills
  • Advanced - Mediation skills
  • Advanced - Leadership skills

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to develop, evaluate and modify programming provided to clients
  • Knowledge of Public Health & Population Health Promotion concepts and strategies as required.
