Job Description: Duties include but not limited to: Synagis clinic coordinator, CPR instructor for parents, NRP coordinator for Regina, Home Monitor program coordinator, Car seat safety educator/technician, Parent education coordinator (CEAC documents, etc.), PPE/N95 Fit trainer for NICU.  Other duties as required.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Licenses

  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
  • Basic Life Support Instructor Certificate (BLS)

Experience

  • Requires a minimum of five (5) years nurse experience related to the clinical program area
  • Qualification beyond basic RN - e.g. advanced training, educator certification, or past experience in clinical education.
  • Capability to conduct multidisciplinary training (nursing, allied health, support staff).
  • Current certification in NRP; in some settings, preference or requirement for NRP Instructor certification.
  • Experience in neonatal or pediatric specialties, perinatal care, or NICU settings.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

  • Relevant clinical experience - often including neonatal care or experience in a NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) / perinatal/neonatal nursing.
  • The role may require coordination of training sessions, simulations, and skills labs - including scheduling across shifts to accommodate staff.
  • Expectation to act as a mentor, resource, and role model for staff; maintain professional standards and confidentiality.
  • Ongoing responsibility to review and update training materials, keep abreast with latest neonatal care and resuscitation guidelines, and prepare documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability in adult education, teaching, facilitation of learning, and clinical instruction.
  • Experience in program development, evaluation and curriculum design
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to integrate clinical knowledge with education and translate evidence-based practice into training.
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, and ability to lead change and professional development.
