Job Description: The Pediatric Chronic Kidney Clinical coordinator is an expert clinical nurse who integrates experience, skills and knowledge using nursing theory and principles for direct patient care, assessment of client care needs, clinical coordination, clinical problem solving, patient/staff education and participation in research for the pediatric nephrology patient/family population. The incumbent's role is complementary to the pediatric nephrologist, especially in education on general aspects of outpatient and inpatient care, drug side effects, doses, compliance, drug levels, arranging and coordinating tests. The Clinical Coordinator works with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate assessments and treatment utilizing a systems approach for all children with nephrology problems in the province. Facilitates the transition of patients along with continuum of care of CKD. Develops and implements a continuing care plan which maximizes the patient's level of independence and family function. Other responsibilities include participating in policy and procedure development, monitoring standards of practice, performing quality improvement initiatives and serving as a consultant to individuals and groups of health professionals around the province, country and within the Saskatoon Health Region.

Experience
- 5 years recent acute care nursing experience, 3 of which must be in the specific clinical area required
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
Other Education and Training
- Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)

- Knowledge of current trends, issues and perspectives of nursing in the specific clinical area. Knowledge of policy and procedure development and quality assurance initiatives. Knowledge of the role of the specific clinical area within the entire health system. Previous supervisory experience is an asset. Dialysis training is an asset.
