Job Description: The Assistant Head Nurse supports the Health Services Manager in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing services in alignment with Saskatchewan Health Authority policies. The role includes providing direct client care, promoting health, preventing illness and injury, offering supportive and emergency services, and collaborating with other health professionals. The Assistant Head Nurse oversees client care delivery, supervises staff and volunteers in the Manager’s absence, ensures effective facility operations, and assists with new employee orientation.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years clinical experience in nursing

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Other Education and Training

  • Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing is acceptable
  • Nursing diploma is acceptable
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Level C Certificate (CPR)
  • Psychiatric Nursing diploma is acceptable

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Ability to promote a collaborative and team approach
