Job Description: The Robotics Surgery Coordinator (Nurse B) is responsible for supporting the development, coordination, implementation, and ongoing sustainability of the robotic surgery program at Royal University Hospital (RUH) in collaboration with St. Paul’s Hospital (SPH). This role provides specialized clinical expertise, technical knowledge, and program leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality robotic surgical care across sites. The coordinator will serve as a clinical resource for perioperative teams, oversee robotic case preparation and workflows, participate in staff education and training, perform perioperative nursing duties, and work closely with Intuitive Surgical representatives to maintain program standards. This position plays a critical role in establishing and advancing robotic surgery services at RUH and SPH.

Experience

  • Minimum of thirty (30) months of robotic surgery experience.
  • Completion of Specialized Intuitive Surgical training
  • Experience working with Intuitive Surgical robotic systems.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting robotic surgery workflows and troubleshooting

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
  • Perioperative Nursing certificate

Licenses

  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based research and clinical practice
  • Ability and flexibility in adapting to changing situations and environments
  • Ability to track and report case metrics.
  • Ability to act independently/work independently/make decisions autonomously
  • Strong teaching, mentoring, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex clinical processes across sites
