Job Description: The Quality Improvement Nurse is a member of the quality leadership team. The goal of the position is to improve quality and safety for patients of Integrated Saskatoon Health Acute Care. The position is accountable for the development and implementation of quality improvement processes and projects. The incumbent will be a leader, educator, facilitator, motivator, and coordinator of quality improvement programs and initiatives implemented by the Integrated Saskatoon Health Acute Care team.The role will be specifically responsible for implementation and development of the regions patient safety culture and education, and providing clinical quality improvement education and expertise to the staff.The Quality Nurse follows the Canadian Nurses' Association's Code of Ethics, and the Nursing Unit's standards and policies. The incumbent identifies and meets professional development needs, maintains competence to role, and participates in professional organizations.
Human Resources Exemption: No
Experience
- 3 years experience in clinical area and/or involve charge nurse coordination
- Minimum of five (5) years recent acute care nursing experience
- Supervisory experience is an asset
Education
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in Nursing
Licenses
- Registered Nurse (RN)
Memberships
- College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
Other Education and Training
- Current CPR certification
