Job Description: Reporting to the Director of Media Relations and Issues Management, the Media Relations Specialist is a provincial position responsible for implementing the integration and alignment of Saskatchewan Health Authority media relations activities for consistent external communication and issues management. The Media Relations Specialist will serve as the primary contact for local, national and international media and respond to media inquiries on behalf of the entire SHA. This role is critical in protecting the SHA's reputation and successfully developing and maintaining the public's trust and confidence in the health care system. This individual may also create and implement communication strategies surrounding issues of significant public and media interest working directly with Executive/Senior and Physician leaders, including the SHA board and committee chairs, along with the Media Relations Executive Director.

Experience
- Demonstrated experience with complex issues analysis and management
- 3-5 years’ experience in media relations and/or communications
Other Education and Training
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in journalism, Communication or Public Relations
- Licensed, and in good standing, with regulatory body, if applicable
