Job Description:
Post Doctoral Fellowship in Clinical Forensic Psychology
The Saskatchewan Ministry of Corrections, Policing, and Public Safety sponsors a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Clinical, Forensic Psychology in partnership with the Saskatchewan Health Authority’s (SHA’s) Saskatoon and Area Psychology Residency Program. The purpose of this innovative fellowship is to develop and implement effective services for justice-involved individuals serving provincial custody and community sentences, focusing on those identified as high risk-needs, experiencing comorbid mental health issues, and/or presenting with histories of interpersonal violence.
Supervision/mentorship of the fellowship will be provided by a Registered Doctoral Psychologist and standards for CPA Accredited Residency Programs would also apply for the postdoctoral fellowship. For instance, this position has protected time for research/learning. There is also financial support available for professional registration and education activities.

Experience:
- Individuals should have supervised doctoral level experience in clinical psychology provided in a variety of forensic settings.
- Ideally individuals will also have experience in research and program evaluation and program development in forensic psychology.
Education:
- Individuals must have successfully completed an accredited pre-doctoral psychology residency program and have competed, or are in the process of completing, clinical psychology graduate program research requirements towards obtaining a Ph.D. or Psy.D.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Checks (including a Vulnerable Sector Check)
- Valid Driver’s License
Knowledge, Skills &Abilities:
- Providing specialized assessment and treatment services for individuals who present with high risk-needs, comorbid mental health concerns, and/or a history of violence/sexual offenses.
- Working as part of multidisciplinary teams to reduce reoffending as part of a continuum of programs and service responses that address criminogenic risk-needs.
- Providing education, training, and psychological consultation to team members.
- Engaging in program development (e.g., virtual forensic services, forensic mental health programs) and evaluation activities.
- Supervision of clinical psychology residents and/or practicum students.
- Additional activities as determined by the fellow and the supervisor depending on individual interests.

- Fellowship term is for 12- 24 months. Length of term will be determined dependent on candidate and operational needs
