GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY

This position processes and maintains records for approximately 960 employees in order to accurately reflect employee status as it pertains to payroll, compensation, benefits, and other employment information. Coordinates administration of benefit plans and salary changes, and supports implementation of bargained agreements and employee initiatives. Conducts employee record audits and carries out research and analysis from business applications. Acts as a direct point of contact for information and explanations related to policies, procedures, collective agreements, and benefit/pension plans.

This incumbent manages multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy in an environment with frequent interruptions and competing deadlines. Delays in processing information, reporting results, and filing documents can create errors that negatively impact both Agency and staff. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma in Human Resources, preferably supplemented with 2 year’s related experience.

SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and discreetly with confidential and sensitive information is essential. 
  • Ability to manage workload, establish priorities and organize multiple tasks while taking into consideration changing circumstances, frequent interruptions, competing deadlines and available resources. 
  • Advanced knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office suite of products. 
  • Ability to input, edit, retrieve, format, transmit and link file data, create and generate queries, diverse reports and documents utilizing databases, spreadsheets, communications and other software packages with speed and accuracy. 
  • Ability to systematically search and assess data to develop informational material and reports and/or to make decisions about the application of policies and procedures.
  • Capable of communicating positively and effectively, both in writing and verbally, including communication of complex issues, policies, procedures to a variety of audiences. 
  • Ability to direct, teach, and interrelate with managers, administrative personnel and staff at all levels of the Agency. 
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems by applying initiative, practicing due diligence and sound judgment when responding to requests and dealing with confidential information. 
  • Ability to work independently and participate as a team member to meet the needs of the Agency and build positive relationships. 
  • Strong commitment to patient/client service excellence.
  • Knowledge of LEAN methodology and project management skills is an asset.
  • Knowledge of culturally responsive care for First Nations and Métis people.
