• Valid Class 5 driver's license

Education

• Graduate from a recognized Dental Therapy program

Competencies:

• Computer skills

Experience:

• Experience in health promotion/prevention strategies
• 3 years of experience as a dental health educator

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to develop and present oral health education/training to various groups
• Knowledge in Infection Prevention and Control standards
• Ability to travel on remote roads or fly in small aircraft to remote communities
• Ability to address health-related issues or life skills, other than oral health
• Demonstrated knowledge in media communication and social marketing.
• Highly developed written and oral communication skills
• Ability to problem solve with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of oral health principles & their relationship to health and disease 
• Ability to work in a cross-cultural setting
• Ability to develop and present oral health education/training to various groups
• Skills such as team building, negotiation, conflict management and group facilitation to build partnerships across professions, health authorities, jurisdictions, sectors, and with individuals, communities and other agencies.
• Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
• Ability to work in isolated areas, as required
