Job Description: Reporting to the Manager the Health Educator - Senior provides a vital link between the SHA Mental Health and Addiction Services, both adult and youth departments, educational institutions and those who become engaged in the suicide prevention work in the community, Prince Albert partners, the Ministry of Health and Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC) and is primarily responsible for assisting in the development, implementation and execution of Roots of Hope educational suicide prevention initiatives and life promotion activities. The Roots of Hope model is based on five pillars of action: Safety, Public Awareness - through education, research and evaluation; to expand suicide prevention evidence based specialized supports, based on needs for prevention, intervention and postvention; and training and learning opportunities for community and stakeholders. Additional required qualifications: Minimum of two (2) years' experience in complex planning and project development that includes multiple stakeholders, including community agencies, service providers, consumers and academics.

- Experience in working with suicide intervention strategies required
Education
- Degree in a health or social science related field.
Licenses
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
Other Education and Training
- Previous experience in Mental Health and Addiction Services is an asset

- Proven ability to collaborate and partner with a wide variety of stakeholders
- Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking
- Ability to lead/encourage/advise/collaborate with colleagues to achieve goals
- Ability to speak Cree or Dené is an asset

- Proven ability to be conscientious and attentive to detail
Other Information
- Registered/eligible for registration with the appropriate licensing body
- Experience and education in project management preferred
