Job Description

The Director of Communications is responsible for the development and oversight of comprehensive public affairs and communication strategies for the Agency. This includes the development and implementation of an Agency wide communication strategy, the development of policies, procedures and standards to ensure information on Agency programs and services is provided to the staff, public, media and other audiences in a timely, accurate and effective manner.

Additional Information

QUALIFICATION � Bachelor�s Degree preferably in Communications. � Five to seven years experience in media relations/public relations. � Knowledge of communication techniques, methods, standards, mediums, equipment and software. � Ability to design, implement, manage and evaluate strategic communication plans. � Professional writing and presentation skills. � Has acted in the capacity of �spokesperson� in former roles. � Must possess a high degree of confidentiality, discretion and sound judgement. � Ability to work independently and participate as a leader/contributing member of a team to ensure goals and objectives are met. � Ability to identify and frame key issues and messages by gathering, analyzing and integrating conflicting and sometimes incomplete information from numerous sources.
