Job Description: Reporting to the Primary Health Care Manager, the Dietitian- Degree provides medical nutrition therapy which includes screening, assessment, developing and implementing evidence-based care plans, counseling, direction on nutrition support, and other needed nutrition interventions for patients/residents/clients. The Dietitian - Degree will work collaboratively as part of multi-disciplinary health care teams to create a patient/resident/client- and family-centered environment conducive to the provision of quality care

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nutrition.
  • Completion of an accredited dietetic practicum.
  • Registered/eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan College of Dietitians (SCD).
  • Registered/eligible for registration with the Dietitians of Canada (DC).
  • Valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver's License.
  • Previous experience in a clinical nutrition setting is an asset.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Time management skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and confident in ability to work independently.
  • Analytical and decision-making skills needed for developing appropriate nutrition care plans and counseling.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and clinical application of human nutrition, including but not limited to nutrition management of chronic and acute medical conditions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships to provide client-centered care.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of quality improvement.
  • Computer skills are required including but not limited to electronic charting (where available), generation of reports, use of diet software and development of resources and presentations.
