Job Description:
Reporting to the Manager of Marketing & Communications, we’re seeking a creative, detail-oriented Marketing & Communications Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you will help lead the development and execution of marketing and communications strategies to attract healthcare professionals to Saskatchewan. Implement communications policies, practices, procedures and plans; promote the overall strategic direction of the organization through internal and external communications and marketing efforts; management of issues and the management of the SHRA’s reputation and brand; enhancement of media relations, government relations and community relations; develop corporate publications; and management of online and social media editorial content.

Education
A Bachelor’s degree in communications, business administration or journalism is preferred.

Other Education and Training
- Minimum of five years' experience in corporate communications, marketing or public relations in a large, complex, multi-stakeholder organization.
Competencies
- Work with the Manager of Marketing & Communications to implement a new brand and website for the recruitment of health professionals to the province.
- Develop and implement marketing and communications strategies aligned with the SHRA’s recruitment objectives and the Government of Saskatchewan’s Health Human Resources Action Plan.
- Prepare an annual organization-wide communications plan and create a comprehensive annual event marketing plan to support recruitment and retention goals.
- Develop consistent messaging for Saskatchewan healthcare recruitment through collaboration with internal teams, healthcare stakeholders and external vendors.
- Support the Recruitment and Retention team with the planning of events and career fairs and the development of marketing and communication materials.
- Coordinate and produce digital campaigns across web, social media, email and advertising platforms.
- Maintain and update the SHRA’s website and social media channels with fresh, engaging content.
- Lead the SHRA’s market research to identify trends, opportunities and best practices in healthcare recruitment marketing and communications.
- Monitor, analyze and report on campaign performance using tools such as Google Analytics and social media insights.
- Support community engagement activities undertaken by the SHRA.
Responsibilities will include the development and publication of recruitment materials such as brochures, presentations, videos and promotional items, as well as writing and editing copy for press releases, newsletters, the annual report and other corporate documents.
Knowledge and Abilities
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.
- Proficiency with social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube Instagram, X/Twitter, etc.).
- Proven experience with tools like Venngage, Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, Mailchimp or similar.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong time management, organizational and project management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
Intermediate photography, video editing and graphic design skills
