Job Description: Reporting directly to the Manager, Digital Health, the Clinical Information Systems Specialist provides support and management for electronic medical records (EMR) implementations and ongoing use regionally. This position is responsible for providing leadership in respect to program implementation and ensuring the EMR supports regional clinical and financial business processes for which it was designed. This position is responsible for the effective operation of the EMR, including quality assurance, auditing, application security and data integrity in relation to privacy and adherence of users to identified policy and procedures. The Clinical Information Systems Specialist works with outside vendors, eHealth, and the SHA Information Systems and regional departments in the installation of new EMR sites and changes or upgrades to existing systems. The Specialist will take the lead role in application management, business case development, requirement gathering, risk assessment and gap analysis for all clinical system and application requests. The Specialist functions as a consultant to lead, organize and coordinate assigned complex, organization wide transformation initiatives. The Specialist must have knowledge of and experience with best practice, quality improvement, change management, project management and general healthcare processes. The specialist will be responsible for configuration in rural Sunrise Clinical Manager (SCM).

Experience
- Two (2) years experience in health care
Education
- Health Information Management diploma (HIM)
- Business Administration diploma (DBA)
- Bachelor of Computer Science (BCS)
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in Information Management
- Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
Licenses
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
Other Education and Training
- Licensed, and in good standing, with regulatory body, if applicable
- Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
