Job Description: 

Great Plains College is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic instructor(s) for our Continuing Care Assistant full-time program at the Kindersley Campus. Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the CCA Instructor will plan organize and implement an instructional program and learning environment that guides and encourages learners to develop and fulfill their academic potential.

Total Contract Days: 164.0 

Courses: Body Systems (ANAT100), Introduction to Caregiving (SPCR106), Personal Competence (SPCR 192), ORR (SPCR101), Clinical 1 - Special Care (CLIN100), Human Growth & Development (HUMD187), End of Life Care (SPCR102), Community Care (SPCR107), Clinical 2 - Special Care (CLIN219).

Travel Required: No

Education

  • Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with a Degree in Nursing or Education or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Licenses

  • Current registration with CRNS or RPNAS.

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Minimum two years of relevant experience in geriatric care (i.e., Long-Term Care, Rehabilitation, Home Care, Community Care or Acute Care Medical Units).

  • Effective interpersonal skills. 
  • Effective communication (oral and written) skills. 
  • Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite software and the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology. 
  • Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment. 
  • Demonstrates valuing diversity.
