About the Role
3sHealth is seeking a Benefit Services Officer to join our Employee Benefits team. In this role, you will provide world‑class customer service to plan members, health care employers, and unions participating in the Employee Benefit Plans. You will play a key part in supporting members throughout the lifecycle of their benefits, including enrolment, disability, life insurance, and retirement.

What You’ll Do
Customer Service & Communication
- Respond to inquiries from plan members, employers, dependents, and authorized agents via phone, email, and written correspondence
- Provide clear, accurate, and timely information regarding benefit entitlements, claims, and processes
- Conduct expectation‑setting calls with members applying for disability benefits
- Prepare and send correspondence using established templates
- Document all interactions thoroughly and follow through to resolution
Benefits Administration & Claims Processing
- Process benefit applications and forms accurately and on time
- Review and record disability forms from members, employers, and physicians for adjudication
- Support life insurance and dismemberment claims by identifying eligible beneficiaries and liaising with insurers
- Prepare personalized retirement packages outlining benefit entitlements
- Review audit reports and update eligibility and member records to ensure data accuracy
Plan Knowledge & Operational Excellence
- Maintain a strong understanding of eligibility rules, enrolment, disability, retirement, and life insurance provisions across all Employee Benefit Plans
- Stay current on policy and plan changes
- Participate in system testing, process improvements, and service level tracking
- Uphold confidentiality, security, and workplace safety standards
- Contribute positively as part of a collaborative, cross‑functional team
What You Bring
Education & Certifications:
- Diploma in Business Administration or a combination of education and directly related experience
- CEBS designation (completed or in progress) is considered an asset
Experience:
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in customer service and/or the insurance industry
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related systems (minimum 30 wpm typing speed)
- Ability to quickly learn and apply complex benefit plan provisions and systems
- Proven customer‑service mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement
- Ability to work collaboratively while also managing independent responsibilities
