Job Description: The Safety Consultant Associate assists and consults with all key stakeholders to ensure all injuries and potential incidents are investigated and corrective action is implemented. This includes communication with internal & external stakeholders. The incumbent prepares reports and statistics to identify trends and make recommendations to the Manager. The incumbent requires excellent communication skills and a broad working knowledge of regional department staff and functions. The Associate is responsible to support the coordination of documentation and workflow of quality and safety education, training, client concerns and safety incidents as well as the maintenance, monitoring, tracking and trending of various databases/registries locally and provincially. The position supports the success of system wide improvement and attainment of the SHA Safety goals.

Experience
- Two (2) years experience in a health care environment
Education
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in a health related field
Licenses
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
Other Education and Training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge and Abilities
- Knowledge in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action
- Knowledge of the healthcare system in Saskatchewan.

- This position is specific to supporting the provincial roll out of the Safety Assurance Foundations for Employees (SAFE) program over the next two years.
- SAFE is a facilitated training course designed to provide SHA leaders with the tools to more easily integrate staff safety into daily operations. Through the development of leadership behaviors and practices we will advance a positive and impactful culture of safety within the SHA.
- Knowledge of the SHA geography and people, strong organization, communication and writing skills will be an asset. The main tasks of this role will be to support the organization of training and audit processes for managers and directors by portfolio in collaboration with the SAFE specialists and manager. Associate will support SHA information sharing through Key Messages, Leader Resources and SHA Daily rounds. Facilitate follow up reporting to leadership on the roll out of the SAFE program.
