Job Description: Reporting to the Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the screening and coordination of initial service requests for all programs within Mental Health and Addictions Services (MHAS) in the Saskatchewan Health Authority. The Assessor Coordinator - Degree provides screening, triage, assessment for urgency/risk, and coordinates case assignments. The position facilitates crisis response and short-term support for services to clients presenting with a variety of mental health and addictions issues. The Assessor Coordinator - Degree provides consultation to Community Agencies and Programs, regarding services available in Mental Health and Addiction Services (MHAS).

Experience
- Experience in mental health & addictions is an asset
Education
- Bachelor Degree in a related Health Science or Social Science discipline
Licenses
- Valid Class 5 driver's license

- Demonstrated knowledge of crisis assessment and intervention
- ability and willingness to travel within service delivery area

- Able to cope w/ clinical, ethical, legal issues involving mental health services
- Working knowledge of Suicide Intervention skills
- Demonstrate knowledge of the Mental Health Services Act/related legislation
- Ability to distinguish normal and abnormal emotional behavioral functioning.
- Knowledge of concurrent medical, psychiatric and substance abuse
- Knowledge/ability using MH&A screening to meet mental/physical needs of clients
- Ability to establish/maintain satisfactory working relationships
- Works independently, effectively and cooperatively with a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrates effective relationships with staff, patients/clients, and families
- Apply ethical, culturally sensitive and legal principles in practice
- Sound knowledge of mental health and addictions theory.
- Ability to cope effectively with stress, change, and diversity
