Job Description: As a member of the Opioid Assisted Recovery (OAR) team, the incumbent is an integral member of the multidisciplinary team in Mental Health & Addiction Services OAR program and under the direct supervision of manager / assigned clinical supervisor. The purpose of this position is to represent Mental Health & Addiction Services and the Opioid Assisted Recovery program within a multidisciplinary team. The incumbent will work with clients, physicians, pharmacists and other agencies to provide support to those within that team and with other agencies, both internal and external to MHAS. The incumbent will complete all tasks related to prescription requests, working with clients, physicians and pharmacies. Responsibilities include assessment, screening, crisis intervention, referral, short term case management, brief counselling, goal planning, consultation/collaborative coordination, preparation of reports and data collection.
This is a regional position and will provided services within North West 1. Travel is required.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in health science or social science related field.
Knowledge and Abilities
- Knowledge of Opioid Agonist Therapy and Opioid Assisted Recovery.
- Knowledge of mental health and mental illness across the life cycle.
- Current knowledge of mental health and mental health issues in a variety of settings.
- Understanding of the impact of mental health on the client, family and the community.
- Understanding of Health Promotion and Health Prevention initiatives.
- Knowledge of interventions appropriate to Mental Health & Addiction Services.
- Knowledge of local human service organizations, resources and referral procedures.
- Require initiative/judgment to plan/apply/alter programs per client/program need.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to establish/maintain satisfactory working relationships.
- Highly developed assessment skills.
- Interviewing skills and counselling skills.
- Demonstrated computer skills.
- Ability to make decisions in accordance with the policies and procedures of SHA Mental Health & Addiction Services.
- Ability to plan, organize/coordinate efforts with other team members.
