Job Description:

The Assessor Coordinator Degree Senior works as a member and team lead of a multi-disciplinary team, providing clinical supervision and leadership. The incumbent is responsible for assessment, provisional diagnosis, treatment, case management, crisis intervention, clinical consultation, education and referral services for clients and their families, representing the three streams of service delivery: addiction, mental health and concurrent addiction and mental health issues. The incumbent will participate in addiction and mental health prevention/promotion activities and contribution to the establishment/maintenance of addiction and mental health resources in the community. The incumbent will develop/maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders providing a continuum of recovery oriented services to clients accessing services. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

License: Valid Class 5 driver's license

Experience: 2 years working experience in community mental health and addictions services

Education

  • Requires a Baccalaureate degree in a Regulated Healthcare Profession

  • Knowledge of psychopathology and the family life cycle and systems theory.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the area of adult assessment and intervention
  • Knowledge in mental health/mental illness impact on client, family and community
  • Ability to adapt to changing conditions
  • Knowledge of local human service organizations, resources & referral procedures
  • Ability to plan, organize/coordinate efforts with other team members

Other education and training

  • Basic Life Support Level C Certificate (BLS-C)
  • Non Violent Crisis Intervention Training

  • Registered/eligible for registration with the appropriate licensing body
