Job Description: The Addiction Recovery Specialist supports individuals and families experiencing addictions to regain control of their lives through recovery. The specialist works with individuals dealing with minor to serious levels of addictions through counseling regarding cause, symptoms and recovery strategies. This role is responsible for decision making and development for standard work for implementation in the Addictions Centre as the storing of confidential files on patients. The specialist handles a variety of responsibilities such as accepting and making referrals to appropriate agencies, conducting complete assessments on their patients, facilitating group sessions & support groups including but not limited to AA or NA, assisting patients in setting life goals and supporting them in their recovery treatment plans. The Specialist will develop partnerships and work closely with system and community partners.

Experience

  • 3 - 5 years experience in Recovery and Addiction

Education

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Addiction/Substance Abuse

Licenses

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

Other Education and Training

  • Licensed, and in good standing, with regulatory body, if applicable
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
