Speech Language Pathologist

As a member of the healthcare team the Speech Language Pathologist provides evaluation, intervention , consultation, education and prevention for individuals with communication and swallowing disabilities as a result of impairment in language, cognitive-communicative abilities, articulation, voice, fluency and/or oropharyngeal dysfunction. Case management responsibilities are an integral part of this position. 

1. Current registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario(CASLPO)
2. Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
3. Current knowledge base and experience in the assessment and treatment of adults with neurogenic communication and swallowing disorders
4. Demonstrated problem-solving, critical appraisal and decision-making skills
5. Demonstrated effective communication and teamwork skills
6. Understanding of and sensitivity to older adults and age-related changes
7. Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional education and advancement of practice
8. Previous experience working with a stroke population and/or within a rehabilitation setting preferred
