Social Worker MSW

As a member of the healthcare team, the Social Worker provides direct patient care through the provision of psycho-social screening and assessments; individual and family counseling and treatment; crisis intervention; bereavement counseling;
liaison and referral to community agencies; advocacy and discharge planning.

1. Current Certificate of Registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers as a Social Worker
2. Masters degree in Social Work from an accredited School of Social Work
3. Recent Emergency Department experience as a Social Worker (within 2 years) required
4. Previous crisis intervention experience
5. Demonstrated skills in the performance of a therapeutic role including strong assessment, counseling, case management and advocacy skills
6. Expert knowledge of community resources
7. Strong interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills
