McMaster Children’s Hospital is proud to be a Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO) Provincial Pediatric Oncology Satellite partner, supporting care closer to home. The POGO Satellite Program is a networked, shared-care system based on a partnership between Ontario’s tertiary hospitals (hospitals with childhood cancer programs such as CHEO, SickKids, London Health Sciences, McMaster Children’s Hospital) and POGO Satellite Clinics. POGO Satellite Clinics are located in areas where the caseload is large enough to maintain the expertise needed, and where patient travel, cost and family disruption will be reduced.

The POGO Satellite Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting the management of shared care between McMaster Children’s Hospital and the POGO Satellite Clinics.  The Satellite Program Coordinator is a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Hematology & Oncology ambulatory clinic and works as a liaison to refer and provide orientation to families about the POGO Satellite program and to facilitate communication between hospital and POGO Satellite partner.
