Porter

Reporting to the Manager, of Support Services, the Porter will be responsible for the transportation of patients, equipment, documents, and supplies throughout the Centre and between Lakeview Lodge and the Henderson Hospital as scheduled and/or requested. This will include assisting with patient lifts and transfer and assisting patients in and out of wheelchairs. 

1. Grade 12 (preferred) 
2. Oral and written English ability 
3. Ability to identify and respond to priorities 
4. Ability to understand and follow directions 
5. Ability to adjust to handling of highs and lows in providing services 
6. Good interpersonal and communication skills 
7. Ability to operate tow motor, where applicable 
8. Ability to operate delivery equipment 
9. Ability to push, pull and lift heavy equipment and stand constantly 
10. Ability to lift 25 pounds (linen) 
11. Ability to move patients
