This successful candidate will be part of the patient equipment team under the Biomedical Technology department. All patient equipment distributed across HHS for patient use is inventoried, tracked, and documented by the Patient Equipment Analyst. Examples of patient equipment includes distributed items that need to be tracked and maintained, such as beds, wheelchairs, ceiling and floor lifts, commodes, suction regulators, plinths, exam tables, patient furniture, evacusleds, therapeutic surfaces, etc. This role will have linkages with the Engineering department and Customer Support Services departments to support the repair and maintenance of these devices. Ongoing communication with clinical managers is required to effectively gauge the needs of the client, to discuss key updates with projects being worked on and understand clinical needs as it pertains to patient equipment. The candidate will have specific knowledge of basic patient equipment, such as common ways equipment is used within the hospital with staff and with patients. This role includes a high level of multidisciplinary and multitasking activities. The position involves inventory and tracking which includes on-site surveying of all wards and departments. The position will also involve load testing of ceiling lifts; which will require the candidate to handle weights higher than 500lbs. The Patient Equipment Analyst may be required to work off hours. A multi-site parking pass will be required, and the individual must hold a valid driver’s license.


Qualifications

1. Minimum 2 years of college (ideally in a technical, hands on discipline) 
2. Preferred 2 years’ experience in a hospital setting at a coordinator level
3. Knowledge of inventory, purchasing, and costing processes
4. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and communicate at a technical level
5. Systems experience with databases, spreadsheets, statistical reports and presentation software
6. Basic knowledge of clinical practices and hospital operations including financial processes
7. Independent self-starter while working in a team environment
8. Strong PC/Network, Internet/Intranet skills and experience
9. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
10. Able to conduct physical device counts throughout the organization
