OT-PT Assistant

Supervises or assists patients with treatment activities, both individual and group under the direction of a qualified Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist. Acts a preceptor for OTA/PTA students from accredited community colleges. 

1. Graduate of a recognized accredited OTA/PTA program and from a recognized college as approved by HHS
2. Must hold post secondary Certificate from a recognized Community College in both OT and PT Assistant Program
3. Recent experience working with patients in a healthcare or related environment is required, eg. within the last 2 years
4. Must demonstrate effective communication skills both written and verbal
5. Must be able to work independently following established guidelines and instructions from a Registered Nurse, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist
6. Must have experience working in/with a multidisciplinary team
7. Experience in organizing and leading groups is preferred
8. Must demonstrate good problem-solving skills
9. Must demonstrate creativity with meeting patient needs
