Occupational Therapist

The Occupational Therapist will provide care for the medical patients in Medicine Overflow. As well, the Occupational Therapist may be assigned to work with the vascular patients in Medicine Overflow as part of a team of Occupational Therapists. The Occupational Therapist practices in accordance with the Code of Ethics established by the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists. The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for the provision of assessments, treatment interventions, discharge planning and community liaison.

1. Registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario 
2. Graduate of an approved program in Occupational Therapy 
3. Excellent time management, problem solving and, teamwork skills 
4. Excellent verbal/ written communication skills 
5. Demonstrated excellent communication, interpersonal skills and effective discharge planning skills and knowledge of community resources and supports
6. Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating within an interdisciplinary healthcare team
7. Participation in continuing education in order to upgrade skills and keep abreast of new developments within General Internal medicine areas
8. Demonstrated ability to work in a changing environment with high productivity, organizational and flexibility demands with solid clinical reasoning and caseload management skills 
9. BCLS or Equivalent
