Reporting to the Medical Device Reprocessing Department (MDRD) Manager, the MDRD Supervisor is responsible for the day to day supervision of staff and departmental functions, including but not limited to scheduling; workflow; team development; performance management; staff training; adherence to policies, procedures and standards; and ensuring that safety, infection control, operational and service goals are achieved. The Supervisor will support the Manager in planning, organizing, coordinating, controlling and evaluating the business activities within the MDRD. As the primary liaison for internal clients, the supervisor will effectively model and foster a work environment which focuses on service excellence


Qualifications
  1. Post Secondary education or equivalent supervisory courses
  2. Post-secondary - current sterilization course
  3. Current Canadian Standards Association Certification
  4. 5 years recent relative reprocessing experience
  5. Minimum of 2 years supervisory/leadership experience, preferably in a unionized environment
  6. Demonstrated ability to supervise numerous and diverse activities in a complex environment, organizing and prioritizing appropriately to meet demands and expectations of our clients
  7. Demonstrated ability to initiate and model positive change.
  8. Demonstrated strong conflict management skills.
  9. Demonstrated ability to analyze, problem-solve, make recommendations for change, implement, evaluate and provide a strong process perspective
  10. Solid understanding of client-centered service and service excellence, and the proven ability to model these behaviours
  11. Demonstrated ability to consistently apply human resource policies, procedures, and collective agreements
  12. Demonstrated knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and infection control practices
  13. Excellent communication, presentation and writing skills
  14. Demonstrated excellence in computer skills; proficiency in MS Office, Outlook/exchange, and Excel.
  15. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to participate in a team based environment
  16. Evidence of commitment to continuous education
