Materials Handler 2 

The Material  Handler 2 is responsible for the delivery of materials and supplies from vendors and other supply partners to programs who depend on the timely delivery to support patient care activity.   They are  responsible for the distribution of vendor direct purchases made by programs, operating all power equipment and carts, including pallet trucks as may be required, following department and corporate policies.   The Material Handler 2 is also responsible for maintaining adequate stock in all clinical areas according to the  prescribed JIT supply cart model, through the wanding and replenishment process for warehouse supplies.  The Materials Handler 2 acts as a liaison between Logistics Materials Management and the user areas; monitoring and replenishing stock as required.  

1. Grade 12 or equivalent
2. Demonstrated computer skills
3. Practical experience in Hospital Materials Management computer data information system
4. Knowledge of Stores inventory systems
5. Good communication (written and oral) and organizational skills
6. Bar coding knowledge an asset
