Environmental Aide

The environmental aide is responsible for providing daily cleans, discharge cleans, linen and waste collection. EA's are responsible for working in conjunction with clinical partners to ensure patient spaces are cleaned on a daily basis as well making sure discharge cleans are done in a timely manner. 

1. Minimum Grade 12 education and / or equivalent education 
2. Previous janitorial experience using industrial/commercial equipment and cleaning agents in a hospital or health care setting preferred 
3. Must be able to lift, push or pull 50 pounds continuously for up to 2 hours 
4. Able to stand for long periods, repetitive reaching, bending, climbing ladder, pushing and lifting using good body mechanics
5. Demonstrates ability to accept assignments and follow instructions
6. Capable of effective communication with other members of the health care team, both verbal and written 
7. Capable of setting priorities and organizing work in response to department needs
