Reporting to the Executive Director of Research Strategy and Operations, the Director of Research Commercialization provides strategic leadership to enhance research commercialization opportunities at HHS. 

They will lead the development and implementation of commercialization strategies, integrate proactive commercialization planning support for research teams, and establish standardized processes to enhance internal and external commercialization opportunities for the benefit of HHS.

The role also fosters a culture of intrapreneurship by continuously improving commercialization processes, optimizing business strategies, and leveraging financial insights to expand HHS’s commercialization opportunities—ultimately enhancing patient care through impactful partnerships.


Qualifications

1. Master’s Degree in Business, Science, Biotechnology or related field,
2. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Research Commercialization, Innovation, technology transfer, or business development within a healthcare or academic research setting,
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience with funding mechanisms, regulatory and go to market strategies for the commercialization of health care technologies,
4.  Minimum of 5 years of experience with intellectual property (IP) management, including strategy development, protection, and commercialization, specifically in the context of healthcare technologies,
5. Expertise in regulatory and compliance frameworks related to research commercialization, including clinical trial approvals, privacy laws, and data governance,
6. Experience in structuring agreements such as MOUs, NDAs, equity agreements, and licensing deals,
7. Ability to assess commercialization opportunities, conduct risk analyses, and develop strategic recommendations,
8. Familiarity with business development, financial modeling, and market analysis in a healthcare setting,
9. Strong leadership and team development skills, including coaching and mentoring,
10. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills to collaborate with researchers, industry partners, and institutional leadership.
