Clinical Manager (JH)

The Clinical Manager functions according to the Accountability Statement for Clinical Managers. Specific responsibilities include: facilitating the development of leadership skills in staff for the management of the day to day delivery of care; facilitating work redesign including the smoothing and queuing of patient bookings and implementation of a primary nursing model; facilitating the development of standardized education including apheresis, transplantation; donor assessment and clearance; data collection and analysis of performance measures and outcome indicators; facilitating the participating of team members in program and regional projects; developing problem-solving tools and guidelines to maximize staff decision making in day to day situations, and promoting staff education, research activities and staff talent. The Clinical Manager is accountable for ensuring all patient transplant activity complies with Health Canada regulations and FACT standard operating procedures and works in collaboration with the Transplant & Cellular Therapy Quality Management Committee, the Juravinski Cancer Centre clinic & treatment services, Transfusion Medicine, and the Stem Cell Laboratory.

1. Master’s Degree in a Health Profession preferred
2. At least 5 years recent relevant management and clinical experience
3. Demonstrated leadership and management skills
4. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in LEAN methodology, with a minimum of greenbelt experience preferred
5. Evidence of commitment of continuous education

6. Demonstrated excellence in communication, team-building and the ability to initiate and model positive change
6. Proven experience and accountability for program budget
7. Membership in a relevant professional college/association
