Reporting to the Clinical Manager, the Clinical Leader will be an active member of the leadership team and participate in the delivery of quality patient care with a focus in the Emergency Department and Diagnostic Imaging. The following activities are conducted in collaboration with the healthcare team: quality improvement activities, continuing professional education, problem-solving, and communication within the site and with other relevant corporate units/departments. Under the direction of the Clinical Manager, the Clinical Leader is responsible for: managing issues related to staffing resources e.g., attendance, retention, recruitment, performance management; implementation of policies and procedures, managing care delivery within a patient-centered care environment e.g., quality indicators, team building, operational supplies and equipment, leading change effectively within the unit; facilitating communication between departments, programs and services; promoting team spirit, cohesiveness, motivation and commitment to program goals. The Clinical Leader will assume a leadership role in the implementation of Synergy, Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), and Site Redevelopment.

 

 


Qualifications

1. Current Registration with a Regulated Health Discipline College in Ontario
2. Baccalaureate Degree within a health profession, or a combination of other relevant academic background
3. Minimum of 3 years recent relevant leadership experience within the acute care clinical setting including Charge roles
4. Demonstrated leadership and coordination skills in a fast-paced environment
5. Ability and knowledge to access hospital resources
6. Demonstrated excellence in leadership, communication, organization, team building and conflict resolution as well as the ability to initiate and model positive change
7. Demonstrated advanced critical thinking skills in the provision of patient-centered care
8. Demonstrated ability to support change in a constructive manner
9. Demonstrated commitment to continuous education and learning for self and others
10. Demonstrated commitment to the mission, vision and values of Hamilton Health Sciences
11. CQI experience an asset
