The Clinical Coordinator in the Michael G. DeGroote (MGD) Pain Clinic is responsible for the daytoday clinical and operational coordination of the interprofessional care team within the MGD Pain Clinic. This role supports the delivery of safe, timely, and patientcentered care for individuals living with complex acute and chronic pain conditions.

Key responsibilities include triaging and coordinating referrals, facilitating efficient patient flow across consultative and procedural pain services, and providing scheduling oversight for physicians, trainees, and clinic staff. The Clinical Coordinator works closely with the Clinical Manager, Clinical Leader, Medical Director, and interdisciplinary team to ensure highquality care delivery, effective utilization of resources, and an optimal patient experience.

In addition, the Clinical Coordinator provides clinical leadership, acts as a role model for the interprofessional team, supports change initiatives, and promotes professional growth and development. In collaboration with clinic and program leadership, the Clinical Coordinator actively participates in and leads quality improvement activities aimed at improving patient outcomes, clinic efficiency, and care processes within the Pain Clinic.


Qualifications

.1.     Bachelor’s degree in nursing or another regulated health profession required

2.      Current Certificate of Registration as a Regulated Health Professional in good standing with the applicable Ontario regulatory body

3.      Minimum of 3 years’ recent experience (within the last 5 years) in a leadership or senior clinical role with demonstrated ability to provide guidance and support in a fast‑paced, complex clinical environment

4.      Minimum of 3-5 years’ recent clinical experience (within the last 5 years) in an acute care, ambulatory care, or specialty clinic setting

5.      Experience in pain management, anesthesia, neurology, musculoskeletal care, rehabilitation, or chronic disease management is an asset

6.      Ambulatory care and procedural clinic experience considered an asset

7.      Demonstrated excellence in communication, organization, conflict resolution, and team building

8.      Proven ability to coordinate and deliver high‑quality, patient‑ and family‑centered care within an inter‑professional team

9.      Strong clinical judgment and advanced critical thinking skills, particularly in the management of complex patient presentations

10. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders including physicians, allied health professionals, learners, and administrative partners

11. Experience supporting or coordinating care in an environment with resident physicians and learners an asset

12. Knowledge of relevant legislation, professional standards of practice, and organizational policies

13. Proven ability to lead or contribute to quality improvement, patient safety, and change management initiatives

14. Commitment to continuous quality improvement, continuing education, and professional development
