Reporting to the Clinical Manager, as a member of the healthcare team, 3G Child and Youth Mental Health Program Business Clerk is responsible for providing all aspects of clerical, administrative or business support to patients,
 
families and those providing service and/or care. Functions according to the job description for Business Clerks. The qualified candidate must have the ability to set priorities and to efficiently complete work in an acute, pediatric mental health environment in a supportive and non-judgmental manner. The Business Clerk is highly skilled in empathetic communication and understanding, and must have a respectful, non-judgmental attitude regarding mental illness, as interaction with patients and families is part of the day.

 


Qualifications

1. Graduate of a Community College Secretarial Program or equivalent
2. Demonstrate expert knowledge and use in Kronos for scheduling and payroll, subject to testing.
3. Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining unit schedules for multiple staffing groups.
4. Demonstrated experience in accurately using Meditech modules: Patient Registration, Community Wide Scheduling, Order Entry, PCI, Client Server
5. Work experience in an acute health care setting, which includes an Emergency Department, Emergency Mental Health Unit or Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit)
6. Medical Terminology Certificate 1 and 2 or demonstrated knowledge equivalent to the Medical Terminology Certificate 1 and 2 acquired in a different Business Clerk position, which may be subject to testing
7. Keyboarding 40 wpm
S. Proficient in all MS applications (MS Word, MS Exchange, MS Access and MS Excel
6. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize work effectively
7. Flexible and adaptable with the ability to move across/between sites as needed.
8. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients
9. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
10. Excellent written and oral communication skills
11. Ability to appreciate the confidential nature of the position
12. Previous experience in a clinic or hospital setting preferred
